The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce does an amazing job promoting member businesses, of which we are one. They recently featured La Terre Farms in their Member Spotlight and we thought it was too good not to share!

Just outside the hustle of city life lies a peaceful and inspiring agritourism destination known as La Terre Farms. Spanning over 500 acres and developed through four decades of land acquisitions, the farm is the product of a remarkable family journey. Originally a weekend family retreat, the property has since transformed into a vibrant working farm and event space under the leadership of Teri Wyly, formerly an environmental lawyer, and her son Connor, the visionary behind the farming concept. Teri’s husband, affectionately known as Bubba, brings a rich family heritage in agriculture to the table, creating a beautiful blend of old and new farming traditions. Now three years into flower farming, La Terre Farms supplies stunning cut flowers to florists and hosts a variety of on-site events and weekly pop-ups, to include an honor stand and you-pick flower days.

La Terre Farms has carved out a unique niche in agritourism, combining the natural beauty of its trails, ponds, and flower fields with engaging community experiences. Visitors are welcomed with Southern charm and treated to events such as yoga sessions, farm-to-table picnics, and special seasonal happenings. The farm’s growing popularity stems from its approachable atmosphere, its dedication to sustainability, and its ability to host creative, family-friendly encounters. The recent addition of workshops and collaborations with local artisans, such as foraging walks and pottery classes, have drawn curious guests from all over the region.

Looking forward, the La Terre Farms team has bold plans to expand their footprint. With a vision to build a venue center to host day retreats, private rentals, weddings, and workshops. The farm is embracing its role as a local hub for creativity and wellness. The temporary use of a barn for gatherings is just the beginning as Connor and Teri are carefully crafting a space where the community can come together to learn, celebrate, and unwind in nature. “I never imagined myself becoming a farmer,” Teri shared with a smile, “but watching this land bloom with my family by my side has been the most rewarding adventure of my life.”

With roots in family farming traditions, a strong commitment to community, and an environmental law background, La Terre Farms is more than just a farm—it’s a flourishing vision of sustainable, joyful living. Be sure to follow their journey and check out upcoming events on their website at laterrefarms.com to experience it for yourself.
